Use the label as a question, not a conclusion
A used phone may be sold in its current condition, a refurbished phone may have been inspected or repaired, and an open-box phone may have been returned after limited handling. None of those labels alone proves battery condition, parts origin, warranty coverage or cosmetic grade.
Ask for the processing record
- Which functions were tested and when
- Whether the display, battery, cameras or housing were replaced
- Whether data was erased and account or activation locks were checked
- Whether the photos show the quoted unit or a representative batch
- Which exceptions are allowed under the written quotation
Keep the resale description traceable
Record the supplier description, the evidence received and any repair disclosure. Use the same description when presenting the product to the next buyer instead of upgrading a used or repaired device to a stronger claim.
